Gerbil Food List (non-exhaustive!):

  • Dry mixes - pellets and/or seed mixes
  • Apple
  • Banana
  • Broad beans
  • Blueberries
  • Carrot
  • Cauliflower
  • Chicory
  • Dandelion
  • Grape
  • Grass
  • Pea
  • Parsnip
  • Pear
  • Pumpkin seeds (treat)
  • Sunflower seeds (treat)
  • Strawberries
  • Turnip
  • Unsalted peanut (treat)

 

Your gerbils can be given these as occasional treats, too:

  • Unsalted peanuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds

The following fruits are safe for your gerbils. Avoid all citrus fruits, as these are very acidic foods and can cause sore skin in and around their mouths.

Safe fruits for gerbils include (non-exhaustive):

  • An apple slice
  • A few blueberries
  • A slice of banana
  • A slice of pear
  • A strawberry
  • A grape

 

The following 'human' foods are suitable for gerbils too:

 

  • Apple
